Two of Suge Knight’s lawyers have been sent to jail for allegedly trying to bribe witnesses. As his murder trial is underway, more drama continues to surround the former CEO of Death Row Records.

The attorneys Mathew Fletcher and Thaddeus Culpepper were arrested Thursday (Jan. 25) by Los Angeles police.  Within the last few months, allegations arose that both lawyers were acting as “accessories after the fact” for witness tampering. The pair has been accused of bribing witnesses in order to help Knight secure a non-guilty verdict in his trial. On January 29, 2015 Knight was involved in a hit-in-run accident which lead to the death of Terry Carter.

The incident occurred at Tam’s Burgers in Compton, CA. Knight ran over two people which resulted in the death of Heavyweight Records founder, Terry Carter. However, Knight claims he was acting in self-defense. According to documents obtained by the L.A. Times, both attorneys allegedly tried to pay witnesses who were at Tam’s to formulate their testimonies in favor of Knight. In addition, Fletcher allegedly attempted to pay multiple witnesses who were present at Tam’s to say they saw the victims with guns. The bail on both attorneys is set at $1 million.
