The 60th annual Grammy Awards will take place Sunday, January 28 in New York hosted by James Corden for a second consecutive year.  The ceremony airs live on CBS at 7:30 p.m. (EST) on CBS.


The star-studded event will include performances by Bruno Mars, Cardi B, Childish Gambino, Elton John, Kendrick Lamar, Sam Smith, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, DJ Khaled, and U2.


In addition, the Times Up movement will be reflected during the night filled with live performances and awards. According to the Cut, the Grammy night initiative is being led by Voices in Entertainment, a group of 15 women. Artists such as Kelly Clarkson, Rita Ora, and Halsey plan to wear white roses to the ceremony to show their support. The #TimesUp movement shed light on the recent response to sexual harassment scandals that have come to light in the last few months.


With 84 different award and music categories, Jay Z has obtained the most nominations of the night with eight. Kendrick Lamar and Bruno Mars quickly follow with seven and six nominations and then SZA, Childish Gambino and Khalid with five nominations each.

Five-time Grammy winner Elton John will be accompanied by Miley Cyrus for a special tribute performance. The tribute is in honor of John and his writing partner Bernie Taupin who will receive the Recording Academy President’s Merit Award. The special tribute will also honor those who lost their lives from various tragedies that have accorded at live music events over the past year.


Various platforms will be hosting pre-shows. Some of the main television networks include E!’s Grammys Countdown (3:30 p.m. ET) followed by their two-hour live carpet event, Entertainment Tonight’s Grammys Red Carpet Live program (6:30 p.m. ET) and Billboard: Live at the Grammys will begin streaming on Twitter at 5 p.m. ET.
